Connect LawKPIs to Claude or ChatGPT
Ask questions about your firm in plain English and get answers drawn from your LawKPIs reports. Claude setup takes about five minutes, and you only do it once.

Before you start
A paid Claude account
Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise. Custom connectors are not available on the free plan.
Your LawKPIs login
Use the same email or username and password you use for LawKPIs.
A computer
Set it up once on a computer. It then works in the Claude phone app on the same account.

Set up Claude in seven steps

Open Settings
In Claude, select your name or initials in the bottom-left corner, then select Settings.

Open Connectors
Under Customize, select Connectors. Then select Add in the top-right corner.

Add a custom connector
From the menu, select Add custom connector.

Name the connection
Enter LawKPIs as the name. Paste the connector address shown above into the second field, then select Continue.
Copy and paste the address rather than typing it. A small typing error is the most common reason setup fails.

Keep the detected settings
Claude checks the address and selects Sign in now and Register automatically. Leave those settings unchanged, do not add headers, and select Add.

Sign in to LawKPIs
A LawKPIs sign-in window opens. Enter the same email or username and password you use for LawKPIs, then select Sign in & allow. Your password goes to LawKPIs, never to Claude.
If no window appears, your browser may have blocked it. Allow the pop-up, or find LawKPIs in your connectors list and select Connect.

Ask your first question
Start a new chat and ask about your firm. The first time Claude uses LawKPIs, it may ask for permission. Select Allow. Answers drawn from your reports include a View in LawKPIs link to the full report.
Try one of these first
“How is the firm doing this month?”
“Which matters are at risk right now?”
“Show me receivables over 90 days, by client.”
“Who are our top billing attorneys this quarter?”
“Export the AR aging report as a PDF.”
“Email me the collections report every Monday morning.”
If you belong to more than one firm, name the firm in your question. Claude names the firm in each answer so you can confirm which numbers you are viewing.
Good to know
Claude sees only what you can see.
It uses your LawKPIs login, so it has access only to the reports and firms already available to you.
Your password stays with LawKPIs.
You enter it in the LawKPIs sign-in window, not in Claude.
Scheduled emails go only to you.
Claude confirms the schedule first and sends the report only to your own email address.
You can remove the connection at any time.
In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, find LawKPIs and select Remove. Nothing changes in LawKPIs.
If something goes wrong
I cannot find Connectors in Settings
Custom connectors require a paid Claude plan. On Team or Enterprise, your Claude administrator may need to add LawKPIs for the firm.
The sign-in window rejects my details
Use the same details you use for LawKPIs. If needed, reset your LawKPIs password first, then return to Claude and select Connect.
Claude cannot reach LawKPIs
Your sign-in may have expired. Open Settings, then Connectors, find LawKPIs and select Connect. Sign in again and retry in a new chat.
Claude answers from general knowledge
Mention LawKPIs in the question and check that the LawKPIs connector is enabled in the chat's tools menu.
Claude shows the wrong firm
Name the firm you want, for example: “Switch to Smith & Jones.” Every answer names the firm whose data it used.
Setup fails at step 4 or 5
Remove the connector if it was created, return to step 2, and paste the connector address instead of typing it.
Using ChatGPT?
This guide covers the Claude connection supplied by LawKPIs. ChatGPT can use the LawKPIs Connector where custom MCP connectors are supported, but its screens and plan availability may differ. Use the same LawKPIs connector address and follow ChatGPT's current custom connector prompts.
